This wire dispenser a fine way to save yourself some aggravation if you find yourself in situations where you need to make relatively long runs of wire or cable. For contractors, time is money, so this wire dispenser could reasonably be expected to pay for itself in short order. Carlon WK7203 Cable Dispenser
This well made and sturdy dispenser is very helpful for long cable runs when wiring a house, addition, or building. The longer the cable needs to be, the more useful this dispenser becomes. However, if your cable runs are all relatively short, say 20 feet or so, you probably don't need this product.
This device is significantly more convenient than unwinding cable by hand, since that invariably results in twists and kinks in the cable.
The first time I used this dispenser, the job required two 75' runs of 14/2 NM cable, with no helper. I was on the 2nd floor, and the device with the cable mounted was on the 1st floor, where the run began. Part of the run went through conduit. Pulling the entire 75' of cable was quick and easy, and there were no kinks or twists in the cable.
It comes with two brackets, one to hang the dispenser on a vertical 2x4 and another to place it on the included floor stand. Either one stays put as you pull cable. There is virtually no resistance from the dispenser when pulling cable, and the cable doesn't get hung up or twist while it unwinds. It works with standard cable without an actual spool (e.g., 250' of 12/3 non-metallic cable) and the longer lengths of cable that come on their own plastic reel. In the latter case, you have to remove the device's 4 extension arms, which takes only a few seconds. This device can also be used to pull any length of Coaxal or other cable that comes on reels.
The dispenser is quickly assembled, without tools. It also disassembles without tools, which makes it easier to find a place to store it; save the box for that.
Highly recommended as a real labor saver.

I have an electrical contracting business and work mainly with new home construction. I don't know what we did without this spinner! This tool is well made, heavy duty, and it makes pulling wire so efficient. We bought 4 of them. One worker can run two of them simultaneously. They are easy to change. They are easy to move locations quickly, no nail pulling, no re-setting a nail to hang it. Just take it off of the stud and move it. They are so worth the price! I would recommend this wire-spinner to all professionals who work with wire. Electricians mainly, but if you have to run cable or other wire from coils, this is what you need.

I usually handle reels of cable with a length of pipe and a ladder or chair (I did build a rack, but it usually has the wrong reel mounted on it.) I also made a home built dispenser for rolls of loose cable/bx/etc. This unit is much nicer - feeds out the cable very easily with no snags or hangups (the home built unit was very frustrating at times, snagging the cable, requiring a run to a different floor to unsnag it.)
I even use it on short runs - any time where I will not be in the same room as the roll of cable. I am glad I have two of these items now.

This a great product and makes my work a lot easier. Works better than the more expensive dispensers and is not as heavy.
